JOHN BERNDT
John Berndt has over 30 years of leadership experience in the hospitality tourism industry, having held senior positions in operations, development, asset management and marketing with Cipriani, Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt, Harrah’s Entertainment, Sung Hung Kai; Hong Kong's largest developer, Wharf Wheelock; China's largest retail landlord, Starwood Hotels and Resorts. John has extensive experience in all aspects of business development, project development, opening and operating high-end, mixed-use centers partnering with market-leading hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars, clubs, nightclubs, casinos, retail, fitness/wellness/medical spas, golf and beach recreation programs around the world.
John heads up JB Global operations, a development and consulting firm. He is a senior consultant for Cayuga Hospitality, Epic Gaming, Integrated Resorts and a council member for the Gerson Lehrman Consulting Group. John specializes in growing brands and creating joint venture partnerships for individual entrepreneurs, creative visionaries and large corporations. John creates value, establishing processes to deliver authentic service, execution excellence, top line revenues and bottom line profits.
John grew up in New York City and graduated from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He lectures at universities, leadership seminars and investment conferences. John lives in the Red Rock Country Club community with his wife Jisoo where he is active in the fitness, golf, swimming, running, cycling, wine and culinary programs. He is a member of the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, LVC&VB, Los Vaqueros community service organization and Cornell Alumni association. He is president of the Spencer Haywood Group, a nonprofit organization, and supports Lou Ruvo Brain Institute, Nevada Cancer Institute and the Epicurean charitable foundation.
